Doors open at headspace Palmerston

20 October 2022

headspace Palmerston has officially opened its doors, giving young people access to vital mental health support at home in their own community.

The new headspace is open to those aged 12-25 offering mental health, related physical health, substance misuse, and social and vocational support.

Palmerston is a rapidly growing community, and this centre will provide ongoing support to an increasing number of young people in the area who would otherwise need to travel to Darwin for care.

Located on Larrakia Country, headspace Palmerston will also offer safe and culturally appropriate support for young First Nations people across the city.

Funded by the Australian Government and operated by Anglicare NT, headspace Palmerston is the 152nd headspace to open nationally.

The Government is investing more than $146 million into headspace service delivery in 2022-23 to help young Australians access mental health care, when and where they need it.

headspace Palmerston is located at Level 1, 11 Palmerston Circuit, Palmerston City.

For young people unable to attend a headspace, free telephone and web support is available at www.headspace.org.au or by phone 1800 650 890.
