Revive Live music for local Territory ears
Live music in Nightcliff is receiving funding of $85,000 to keep local music fans engaged.
The funding is being delivered to Nightcliff Arts Music and Culture Inc through the Australian Government’s Revive Live program, to support the Nightcliff Seabreeze Festival 2025.
Revive Live is helping live music venues and festivals to continue to operate under tough conditions, with grants supporting live music in regional, remote and metropolitan areas across the country that reflect a diverse range of genres, organisations and audiences.
Minister for the Arts, Tony Burke, said the funding would help ensure the Nightcliff Seabreeze Festival can continue to entertain live music fans in the Territory.
“Live music venues and festivals are the lifeblood of our local music scene and I want to ensure they remain a place for homegrown artists to perform.
“Revive Live is alleviating some of the additional costs facing our industry right now and will help them to be more sustainable into the future.”
Member for Solomon, Luke Gosling said the funding was a win for locals and for the industry.
“Live music venues and festivals make a large contribution to the Territories economy, with many tourism and hospitality industries leveraging off the success of the live music scene.
“This funding will benefit the Nightcliff Seabreeze Festival and help grow Australia’s ecosystem of live music for the future.”
The Nightcliff Arts Music and Culture Inc said "We are incredibly grateful to receive this funding of $85,000 through the Revive Live program which ensures the volunteer-run Nightcliff Seabreeze Festival will celebrate our 20th year in 2025.
The grant strengthens our commitment to supporting local artists, community and multicultural groups and school students and increasing participation.
It allows us to continue bringing vibrant live music and arts to the community which is free and accessible, and celebrates our diversity and activates and invigorates our community spaces.
We are thankful of the support of our local Federal Member Mr Luke Gosling.
We can't wait to see you all again next year as we celebrate the vibrant culture, music, and community spirit of the Nightcliff Seabreeze Festival for many more years to come"
Through Revive Live, the Australian Government is providing grants of $7.7 million in total to 110 organisations, including 61 festival-based activities and 49 live music venues.
Established in the 2024-25 Budget, Revive Live aligns with the Government’s National Cultural Policy, Revive, which recognises the Australian music sector as a vibrant part of our arts and cultural landscape.
The program is providing critical support to the sector, with grants helping recipients to adapt to market pressures and improve the sustainability of their operations as well as improving accessibility at live music venues or festivals so that more people with disability can participate as a performer, arts worker, or audience member.
