Labor Member for Solomon, Luke Gosling today announced that a re-elected Albanese Labor Government will support the Hindu Society of Northern Territory (HSNT) to establish a dedicated community kitchen and canteen.
This $200,000 election commitment will support the expansion of the Darwin Hindu Temple to include a kitchen and canteen.
The new kitchen and canteen will be a vibrant community hub for the growing local Hindu community in Darwin, strengthening community connectedness and providing a space to gather for festivals and celebrations with the wider community.
The commitment reflects the Albanese Labor Government's pledge to ensure multicultural communities in the Northern Territory are supported and have the infrastructure they need for their growing communities.
Consistent with past practice, election commitments will be delivered in line with Commonwealth Grants Rules and Principles.
