Meet Luke

Your Member for Solomon

HI, I’M LUKE, YOUR FEDERAL MEMBER FOR SOLOMON.

I grew up in a big family with limited means, so from an early age I learned the value of hard work, responsibility and looking out for others.

My career eventually brought me to the Northern Territory, and it didn’t take long before it felt like home. Today I live in Darwin with my wife Kate and our two kids.

I spent 13 years in the Australian Army, including time here in the Territory. It taught me a lot about leadership, teamwork and serving something bigger than yourself.

After the Army, my passion for economic and social development took me to Timor-Leste where I spent several years leading humanitarian and tourism projects.

Back here in the Territory I helped establish a health workforce program supporting local communities, and later served as CEO of St Vincent de Paul NT.

Since 2016, I’ve had the privilege of representing Darwin and Palmerston in the Australian Parliament - listening to our community and working hard to deliver the infrastructure, services and opportunities our region needs. It’s a responsibility I take seriously and one I’m proud to do for the community that our family and I are so grateful to call home.
